Issued by Elatre LLC and Elatre Solutions Private Limited
Elatre LLC and Elatre Solutions Private Limited (together, “Elatre,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) have become aware of an ongoing scam in which individuals and groups are falsely using the Elatre name to solicit money from members of the public under the pretext of offering contract or marketing work. Reports indicate this happens both through WhatsApp and through direct phone calls. This notice applies to both entities operating under the Elatre brand and is published to inform the public, protect prospective candidates, and support any resulting law enforcement action.
Summary
We have received a verified report describing a recruitment scam that:
- Contacts individuals through WhatsApp groups using names such as “Elatre-1003,” and in some cases by direct phone call
- Offers paid daily contract or marketing work under the Elatre name
- Directs individuals to a fraudulent website at app-latre.cc, which has no affiliation with Elatre
- Requests payment of a fee or deposit from the individual before releasing supposed earnings
This activity is not conducted by, authorized by, or affiliated with Elatre LLC, Elatre Solutions Private Limited, or any related entity, in any form.
How Elatre actually hires
Elatre LLC and Elatre Solutions Private Limited share the same official hiring process, regardless of the entity or region involved. To help the public distinguish genuine communication from us, we confirm the following:
- All hiring communication from Elatre, under either entity, is conducted exclusively through hr@elatre.com and hiring@elatre.com.
- Elatre does not initiate recruitment contact by unsolicited phone call or WhatsApp message, and does not conduct hiring or engage contractors through WhatsApp groups.
- Elatre never asks a candidate, contractor, or employee to pay a fee, deposit, or any sum of money in order to receive a job offer, begin work, or be paid for work already completed.
- Any communication claiming to represent Elatre, Elatre LLC, or Elatre Solutions Private Limited that does not originate from the email addresses above should be treated as unauthorized and should not be relied upon, regardless of whether it arrives by phone, WhatsApp, or any other channel.
If you are unsure whether a communication is genuinely from Elatre, hang up or stop responding, and verify directly with us at hr@elatre.com before taking any further action.
Details of the fraudulent scheme
Based on information provided to us, the scheme operates as follows: an individual is contacted either through a WhatsApp group purporting to represent Elatre, or by a direct phone call from someone claiming to represent the company. A contact, in one reported instance identified as “Emily” over WhatsApp, presents the individual with an offer of paid marketing or task-based work, often describing daily pay. After the individual begins completing tasks, they are told they must pay a fee, deposit, or similar charge before their earnings can be released. No legitimate payment is ever issued.
This structure is consistent with well-documented “task scam” or advance-fee recruitment fraud patterns that are common across both messaging platforms and phone-based outreach, and are not specific to any one company name.
Guidance for anyone contacted
If you have been contacted in this manner, whether by phone or WhatsApp, we strongly encourage you to take the following steps:
- Do not send any money, including through bank transfer, digital wallet, gift card, or cryptocurrency, regardless of the reason given.
- Do not share personal, banking, or identity information with the caller, individual, or group.
- If contacted by phone, end the call. Do not stay on the line to “confirm details” or follow instructions given during the call.
- Preserve evidence. For WhatsApp, take screenshots of the conversation, group name, and any phone numbers or usernames used. For phone calls, note the number that contacted you, the time, and what was said.
- Leave and block the WhatsApp group and contact, or block the phone number.
- Report the group to WhatsApp using its in-app reporting function.
- Report the fraud to the appropriate authorities. Depending on your location, this may include:
- Your local police or cybercrime unit
- In India: the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) or the national cybercrime helpline (1930)
- In the United States: the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3.gov) or the Federal Trade Commission (reportfraud.ftc.gov)
- Your country’s equivalent national fraud or cybercrime reporting body, if outside the above
Reporting to authorities is important not only to protect your own interests but to help build a record that can lead to action against those responsible.
